WELCOME TO SPECTRON LABS!

The services offered by Spectron Laboratories are founded upon three fundamental principles.  They are analytical, diagnostic and corrective.

We believe the first step to address any of the problematic conditions related to turf production is analysis. This process is usually performed in the lab. Spectron Labs has the resources to perform analytical and diagnostic procedures for most of the challenges related to turf production.

Most problems that result in poor turf quality can be traced to at least one of the following areas.

  • Physical properties of the soil.
  • Hydraulic properties of the soil.
  • Water quality issues.
  • Nutrient quantities or imbalances of the soils.
  • Nutritional balances and deficiencies found within the plant tissue.
  • Opportunistic organisms, i.e. fungi, nematodes, disease, etc.

After the analytical process is completed, the diagnostic process can begin. This process involves reviewing all of the factors that have been discovered during the analytical process.

Diagnostics rely heavily upon trends. Most of the historical information about the maintenance and care of the golf course is held in the memories of the superintendent and the staff as well as other associates such as professional staff and the members.

This information as well as the information discovered during the analytical stage will build the foundation for the third step of the process, which is the corrective. In this step, a plan is developed to determine what practices,  procedures and products need to be continued, changed and/or implemented to achieve the desired outcome.
